How to order Dynamic Patient Scenario (DPS) card sets for your disaster exercise.
DPRO offers Dynamic Patient Scenario card sets for sale and to rent. Because of the costs associated with producing, formatting, printing and laminating DPS card sets renting is cheaper than purchasing and choosing from the available sets below will be cheaper than having custom sets created from scratch.
Renting is generally preferable because it is cheaper and institutions that pericipate in disaster exercises will not want to exercise with the same scenario every time.
Victim DPS card sets are batched in groups of 25 for normal victims and 5 for special needs victims.
Prices are based on multiples of 25 victims with larger numbers being incrementally cheaper because some of the handling costs are the same regardless of the size of the order.
If you wish to use DPSs for your upcoming disaster exercise we recommend choosing one of our existing card sets and designing your exercise around it. For example; a municipality is planning an exercise with about 50 victims so the 50 DPS blast injury set is chosen from the list below and a suicide bomber on a bus of 50 people is the devised event that the exercise is designed around. However, this card set is designed to represent nearly all situations of blast injuries in smaller confined spaces and can be used or adapted to most exercise scenarios involving blast injuries.
Custom card sets are available but because of the costs associated with producing, formatting, and printing they are more expensive and require at least 90 days of lead time.
Placing a custom order requires discussion with a DPRO representative.
Special needs victim sets (Pediatrics, Obstetrics, physically and/or mentally handicapped, etc.) are available and come in increments of 5. The special needs victims can be added to the existing 25, 50 or, 75 victim sets. The injuries represented by the special needs DPS sets will be tailored to match the injuries of the DPS set they are added to.
Renting DPS card sets requires a deposit which is refunded upon return of the DPSs after your exercise.
For each single DPS that is not returned the renter will incur a replacement charge of $35 that will be subtracted from the deposit.
